Science Fair Progress – Parent Update

The 7th grade students are currently running their experiments for their fairs. We are working in the classroom on fine tuning the expectations. Since this is a work in progress, students are proceeding at their own rates. However, suggested deadlines have been given in class. Students have been asked to present the following items by December 13-15th to Mrs. Wilson for her review and corrections:

Corrected: question, hypothesis, method

New: data tables, graphs, conclusion, comments, and abstract

Students are encouraged to get these items submitted as soon as possible so they can work on corrections over the holiday. The final report and board will be the last items needed to be completed after the holidays. Students are asked to check in with Mrs. Wilson to discuss their progress if deadlines are in danger of not being met. As long as Mrs. Wilson has knowledge of the project’s progress, full credit will be issued for the individual parts when submitted. Students may email completed work over the holiday as well for corrections and input.

The fair is held in Mazanec Hall on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Students will need to arrive at 8:30 am and stay until about 11:00 am. It is a mandatory event or their grade will be reduced. Thank you for your support in this program which sets St. Rita apart as a STEM school.
